Stabilizer:
I started
inventing the Stabilizer in 1991
Intent of the Stabilizer; to bring the technology from racing motorcycles
for speed and cornering stability into mountain biking
Testing of the Stabilizer included riding a mountain bike with knobby tires
in a tuck behind a Semi reaching speeds of almost 50mph on the 15 fwy going
down Cajon Pass. (Yes it is legal but not recommended)
Started Extreme Steering, Inc. (ESI) in 1999 - Stabilizer Patent finalized in 2002
(Stabilizer is currently off the market and back in the Proto-Type stages
with an all new design).
While prototyping the Stabilizer I spent numerous hours on my MTB, off
road/road. Whenever and wherever I could ride I did. By the time the
Stabilizer was perfected for the market my hands and arms were killing me.
So my next project started, MTB Grips. |

MTB
Grips:
My next mission was to stop the pain in my hands and arms. While working in
Aerospace I ran across a material on an application that I was working on.
It was perfect. Non-porous, withstands severe temperatures and climates. Any
condition you could throw at it nothing effected it and you get extreme
shock absorption. I had to have that on my bars. So began my next mission to
design the perfect mountain bike grip made of 100% Silicone!
I had no idea that there were so many racers/riders that had the same issues
with grips that I did (hard, uncomfortable, spin, heavy, deteriorate, etc.).
Who would have thought that the simple concept of light weight, shock
absorbing grips with no glues along with the idea that logos at the end of
your bar and tread patterns on your tires (not on your grips!) would be
accepted by racers/riders across the world! Thus in 2003 ESI grips was born.

Road
Grips:
"Unwrapped"
Refuse to be Unraveled!
ESI 100% Silicone Road Bike Grips - Great for: Road / Cyclocross / TT bars /
Aero Bars / Bull Horn Bars / etc..
ESI Road Grips were created because of the constant hounding by
racers that use ESI MTB grips. Many MTB riders cross train on road bikes and would
continually ask me to come out with road grips. I believe you can’t make a
superior product unless you actually use that product; so I went out and got
myself a road bike. After a year of testing not only did I come out with
superior road grips, but I love cross training on my road bike. Thanks to
my friend Terry Martin I am now doing Triathlons when I am not racing Mountain
Bikes.
“Unwrapped” refuse to be unraveled! The name describes the grips. These
grips do not unravel, soak up sweat or get stinky. They are washable
and shock absorbing. ESI’s Road grips “Unwrapped” are the only thing on my
road bike that absorbs the shock of the road.

Hand Off:
ESI's newest
Product - The "Hand Off"
The
Hand Off was invented because I race XC Sport and was tired of Hydration
Packs. When there was no one to hand me a water bottle, I found my times
slowed as much as 30 seconds a lap. Hand Off eliminates grabbing it off a
log, rock or the ground.
